I found that totally scewing up a sock makes for an excellent Golf Club Cover. Basically that is waht you are making. I'd use something washable. Actualy, a mitten w/out the thumb would work too. A bit of ribbing and then more puffy for the club. How many to make? As many woods as in the set of clubs. He'll have a driver and at least 2 woods. So, i'd say 3. Also, when you buy them, the outside of the cover has the number in it. Swing into the golf club at the bottom of skyway and checkout their Pro Shop.
Thanks Brooke . . . will stop in the Pro Shop and have a look see . . . all I can say is Justin better like them if he wants to fit into a family that lives with "string" . . .
You could make a tube, like you were going to make a wrist warmer and then just sew the top together, you can do any pattern you would do for a sock leg. That should work perfectly.
